A message from the author

I don't see myself as an author, really.
Despite having dabbled in writing few things, some of which published, I identify as an Architect.

Not one of those artsy daydreamers that make breath-taking drawings, but a hands-on technician grown up in my grandfather's mechanics workshop and moved on into being a technical and project manager.

I am a problem-solver.

And there is a problem you have that I want to solve, because it afflicts most of my clients too.

They are mostly home buyers - sometimes complete novices - with their eyes set on a nice house in a perfect location. Perhaps they've been waiting for months to find the right opportunity on the market and when it finally appeared they know it's important to act fast and book a viewing ASAP.

And if you are reading this you can probably relate.

What they usually underestimate is how far from straightforward the process of buying a house can be.

Getting the keys is only the tip of the iceberg because said house will often be in poor conditions, poorly insulated and poorly fit for a modern lifestyle, both in terms of technology and practicality.
Think about cute victorian terrace houses with a loo in the garden, to give a clear example.

As soon as they realise the house is not quite a good fit for them, they look for professional help to address this and transform their new property into their dream home.

Over the last 5 years, since setting up my own practice, I have spoken with a whopping 2,304 people (at the time of writing this, I've just checked my tracking).

And a good 60-70% of them have been exactly in your same shoes (let's approx them at 1500, don't make me count them all now).

What I have learnt listening to their stories is that buying a house is a draining experience.
